Styling with Vesa India
I rarely blog about fashion, but when I do, I prefer to feature brands that are niche. What attracted me to Vesa, was its unique approach to Indo-western fusion.
The Pashmina Blazer, which I am featuring in this piece, uses bright colours, an edgy design, and looks extremely smart if styled well. The use of Pashmina fabric gives it a softer and silkier feel to a regular blazer, and a traditional twist.
The trickiest part about purchasing a blazer online for me was the size. A blazer can make or break a look depending on how it fits. As you can imagine, I was delighted when Vesa assured me that they could customize the piece to my measurements, at no extra cost.
What I appreciate most about the Pashmina blazer is that you can carry it off in the day and night. Its also versatile enough that you can style it with Indian wear – though I haven’t tried it myself, check out @Santushti_thestyledge, who pairs it perfectly with a light blue saree. Here, I’ve tried a day and night look for the blazer.
Plain colours accentuate the patterns on the blazer. I find that blacks and whites are the best when styling the Pashmina blazer. For the night look, I’ve paired it with a simple black maxi dress and a simple necklace. I’ve also found that black pants and a top work well for evening-wear.
Look 2: Day-wear
For a more chic casual look, my personal favourite is a classic white t-shirt or tank top, and light blue jeans.
While I usually don’t like to keep the button shut when wearing a blazer, in this case it allows you to appreciate the detail from a first glance. Also, since this is custom-made, it shuts comfortably – a common issue I face with readymade blazers.
What’s unique about Vesa is that most of their collections consists of statement pieces. For more of their designs, have a look at their website, and Instagram handle: @vesaonline.
